New ANYSIZE CLASSES
The club night competitions are I believe designed to simulate as close as possible the competition environment that people would encounter away from home.
When competing away from home all dogs would be expected to jump the height they are measured for.
Many Unaffiliated competition offer the “Standard” height for the smaller of the large dogs. Which we also do at our competition nights.
This height is not available when competing at KC shows.
In the light of fairness we at Dig It have now added an any-size agility and jumping class for the 2010 season.
These classes will have their own leagues, so you will not be missing out on anything by competing in this class.
Any dogs who for whatever reason cannot jump the full height they would be measured for should be entered in this class.
We also have the Begin-to-Win nights for dogs just starting out on their agility careers that may not yet be competent on all the equipment such as weaves and see-saw.
All dogs here jump the height lower than what they are measured for.
Any-size classes are run over the same course as the height classes so will include weaves etc depending on course design.
So would be for the dogs that can do everything just not jump full height.

DOG MEASURING
We now have measuring hoops at the Club. They are Small, Medium and Standard. Measuring will be available before each competition night both Begin-to-Win and Club between 6-30pm and 7pm when people are walking the course. Please remember that this is not an official measure and you will need to be measured at other clubs when you enter their competitions.
These hoops will enable you to get your dog used to being handled for measuring before they get an official measurement so they can become comfortable with the procedure. They will also give you a good idea what height your dog will be expected to jump.
If dogs have been officially measured we will take that to be a true measurement and will not need to be measured before a club competition.
If you think your dog maybe nervous about the measuring procedure please speak to your trainer in your agility class who will be happy to help you and your dog get comfortable standing for measuring by using the usual reward based techniques.
